Which smartphone reigns supreme? This could be the hardest question to answer at the moment since both models are to die for and has definitely earned the interest of the public. Forget about the controversial lawsuit filed by Apple against Samsung. Both smartphones have something to flaunt and be proud of.

The battle for the best design

The iPhone 5 sports a 7.6mm thickness with a metal casing and non-removable battery while Samsung Galaxy S3 has a thickness of 8.6mm and has a plastic casing and a removable battery. The iPhone 5 is sleeker and more lightweight in this aspect.

The battle for the screen display

The iPhone 5 flaunts a widescreen with 4 inches display of 1,136 x 640 pixels while the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a significantly bigger display at 4.8 inches (this is a disadvantage for those with small hands because it is 7.6cm across) with a pixel density 720 x 1,280 spread across its display.

The battle for software

For the iPhone 5 software, it is the iOS 6; while for the Samsung Galaxy S3, it is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (4.1 will be coming soon) and TouchWiz UI. Think about it; are you for the Apple store or for Android?

The battle for power

The iPhone 5 has a 1GB RAM, A6 processor and power TBC. The Samsung Galaxy S3 also has 1GB RAM and uses the impressive and more powerful Exynos 4412; Quad-core 1.4 GHz. In this aspect, Samsung may have an edge when it comes to power and processor.

Both smartphones have excellent connectivity and camera features. It all boils down to which one you are willing to invest your money on.

In conclusion, both are excellent products that can offer the performance you demand in a smartphone; and both are winners in their own rights.

  4. Any of the two smartphones will do for me but unfortunately, my funds are not smart to buy even one. Maybe if I have an opportunity to win a contest with these 2 as the prize to choose... I would prefer iPhone 5. :)

  5. Hmm, I'm not sure if this is a completely parallel comparison, but I'll go with it (the Samsung S3 is better compared with the iPhone 4S, in my opinion).

The cult Apple has raised with the iPhone series is largely suspect to the hype about the iPhone 5. However, the 5 doesn't really improve A LOT on the 4S in my books. The S3 will still be much more accessible and affordable to many. If Samsung cannot compete (but they probably can) via technology, then the battle is by volume then.

  6. Though, I am amazed with some of the capabilities of Andrioid which I cant do in IOS, I would still go for IOS. Its because of the value of money. IOS is proven to be of value in the money and actually is an investment.
